¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ alumnus Alex DiVerde ’16 received the Alan C. Williams Leadership Award from actuarial science, insurance and risk management honor society Gamma Iota Sigma.
The award is given each year to a student who “sets the best example for all other members and is our best ‘ambassador’ to the … industries at the international level as well as the local and regional levels.” It is the highest honor the society awards.
DiVerde was secretary of ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½’s GIS chapter as a freshman, then president for his sophomore, junior and senior years.
“I feel blessed to be in the company of others who have won the award,” he said. “As a student, the previous winners were students I aspired to become and whose examples I followed. It’s surreal to know their example worked.”
