�ۿ۴�ý and Indiana University’s Robert H. McKinney School of Law are partnering for the “�ۿ۴�ý Law Scholar” program.  With this partnership, each year �ۿ۴�ý will nominate two pre-law students or alumni for acceptance at IU. 

�ۿ۴�ý Provost David Glassman says �ۿ۴�ý is committed to assisting students interested in a law career as they make plans for post-graduate education.  “This partnership creates a pipeline to a prestigious institution in IU’s McKinney School of Law.” 

Students selected as �ۿ۴�ý Law Scholars will continue their education at a highly-respected law school, receive at least a 50% scholarship for all three years, a paid position as a Research Assistant after completing 30 law school credit hours and designation as a Fellow in their chosen area of study.

Nicole Meyer, Director of �ۿ۴�ý’s Pre-Law Center, says the partnership means that the �ۿ۴�ý Law Scholars will be presented with guaranteed, hands-on legal experience before other students.  “This is crucial in the current legal profession because many law school graduates don’t have the opportunity to receive real experience before they acquire a job.  As a result, �ۿ۴�ý Law Scholars will be more marketable to future employers. This opportunity is a continuum of the experiential learning opportunities offered at �ۿ۴�ý.”

IU Dean Emeritus and Professor of Law Gary Roberts is a �ۿ۴�ý alumnus and believes this partnership is a terrific opportunity for both schools.  “�ۿ۴�ý is a truly wonderful school that has outstanding students and we are fortunate to have this pipeline that brings some of them here to the McKinney School of Law and Indianapolis.”

IU McKinney Dean Andrew R. Klein is also extremely proud to be undertaking a partnership with �ۿ۴�ý.  “The law school has a strong connection with �ۿ۴�ý through Dean Emeritus Roberts, who is an engaged alum of his alma mater. We look forward to welcoming more �ۿ۴�ý grads to our community in the years ahead.”

Past academic performance, letters of recommendation, professional, volunteer, and leadership experience, and legal interest will be considered for nomination.  �ۿ۴�ý Law Scholar nomination does not secure admission into the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law.  The first nominations begin with the law schools Fall 2015 class.
