High School Education

Prepare to inspire the next generation with ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½â€™s High School Education program. This pathway leads to your State of Illinois Professional Educator’s License, qualifying you to teach grades 9–12 in your chosen subject area.

You’ll gain the knowledge, hands-on experience, and classroom confidence needed to thrive as an educator. Program Details

Those students enrolled in a High School Education program of study must select one of the following primary majors in their teaching field, listed below. Within each of these respective teaching areas, students must complete the required ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ Core Curriculum and subject or content area coursework 32 semester hours minimum.

In addition, students also have a second High School Education (HSE) as part of their 120 semester- hour baccalaureate degree program, which includes completion of the required professional education and field/ clinical experiences, as well as the Illinois State Board of Education requirements.

Every high school education graduate from ¿Û¿Û´«Ã½ has achieved a 100% pass rate on Illinois licensure tests, including the national edTPA portfolio evaluation. That means you’ll graduate fully prepared to step into the classroom or continue your education in graduate school.
