Portsmouth, NH April 20, 2019 –ۿ۴ý is helping a leading supplier of construction materials to optimize overall inventory, take control of materials, and transform decision making based on real-time availability of data.

The client is one of the world’s leading producers of cement, ready mixed concrete and an aggregator of construction materials.suppliers. The clients have the capacity and geographic footprint to supply construction materials in key markets throughout the United States and Canada.

ۿ۴ý’s engagement is a follow-up to the client’s multiple acquisitions across the US. The new collaborations impart new challenges in Supply chain management for the client. Multiple ERP systems, the high number of material & vendor duplication, non-standard naming convention, are few of the many problems encountered by the client during and after acquisitions.

The main objective of this project is to deliver a standardized golden database of materials integrated into their ERP / CMMS systems. The impact of multiple acquisitions on inventory has resulted in sporadic decision making related to the supply chain. The lack of focus on the spend visibility induced emergency purchases and increased inventory costs.

The client’s targeted benefits from this engagement include lower inventory cost, reduced asset downtime, as well as an enhanced production supported by real-time material visibility. ۿ۴ý’sOptimizeMRO will help the teams to explore innovation and act on contemporary thinking, industry research, and cutting-edge technology.

Kiran Sivadas, EVP, ۿ۴ý said, “ۿ۴ý is taking a comprehensive outlook to provide technology-enabled supply chain solutions that can be applied at the asset-intensive organization, having thousands of spare parts. This approach leaves no stone unturned in the hunt for better ways of improving efficiencies and effective strategy.”

ۿ۴ý, a global provider of , announced the renewal of its contract for the fifth year for an ongoing compliance management project with a leading communications equipment manufacturer.

The Client is a pioneer and technological leader with over 20 years of experience in optical solutions industry. They provide optical communications network infrastructure equipment and services to suit an array of requirements in the telecom industry. Their services enable customers to make network systems smarter, faster and more efficient.

With data spread across several geographical locations around the world, one of the major concerns of the Client had been the negative impact of data inconsistencies on their process and delivery system. The Client required to implement a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system in place in order to maintain updated ROHS, REACH & Conflict Minerals data.

ۿ۴ý has been supporting the Client for the last 4 years with end to end consulting services ranging from Data Compilation, Data Enrichment and Ongoing data support thus enabling the Client to achieve distinct market advantage. ۿ۴ý extensively works on the Client’s PLM tool Omnify to maintain consistent data that further helps the Client to manage their Engineering Change Order and New Product Requests.

ۿ۴ý’s Head of Master Data Management services said, “ۿ۴ý’s experience in the PLM domain and expertise in Compliance management helped to gain the Client’s confidence over the years. The Client also could reduce the turnaround time for design by an impressive 30%, which further translated into lower overheads and costs. Establishing the PLM system enabled the Client to keep track of various aspects of the supply chain management.”

MRO Data Cleansing – Not Just A Spring Cleaning Event /blog/mro-solutions/mro-data-cleansing-not-just-a-spring-cleaning-event/ Tue, 28 Jun 2011 10:33:02 +0000 https://enventure.com/engineering-blog/?p=507 master data management, mdm, data cleansing, MRO maintenance

MRO maintenance is something which must be tackled on a regular basis, rather than left until things become unmanageable. However tight deadlines are, you must keep data files accurate and up-to-date at all times. Sadly, this is often not the case. Many companies seem to approach data cleansing as they do their spring cleaning – invariably leaving a few cobwebs behind. This is often true across the board, from master data management downwards. Be honest – when was the last time you had a good BOM scrub? Often, databases get unruly for the same reason conventional storage rooms do – there’s just too much junk accumulated. With MRO and BOM maintenance, archiving becomes essential, but that doesn’t mean “spent” files have to be kept in the same place as current, live projects. A good indexing system and compressed folders is what is required. Master data management, which covers a wide range of areas, can become overwhelming unless you regularly do a spot of spring cleaning. Companies go to great lengths to establish MDM databases, the aim being to streamline efficiency and reduce paperwork. However, once data is consigned to a virtual filing cabinet it’s easy to become sentimental. Files which, in paper form, would have been shredded get saved “just in case.” However, outdated and duplicate records can damage both your reputation and your pocket, with mail shots going to defunct addresses, and customers receiving multiple mailings on the same subject. We at ۿ۴ý Technologies offer a comprehensive range of MRO maintenance and data cleansing services, guaranteed to keep your virtual filing systems spring fresh all year round.

Master Data Management software and UNSPSC classification /blog/master-data-management-software-and-unspsc-classification/ Tue, 01 Feb 2011 11:36:37 +0000 https://enventure.com/engineering-blog/?p=332 unspc coding, mdm, master data management, eclass

The post Master Data Management software and UNSPSC classification appeared first on ۿ۴ý.

UNSPSC stands for United Nations Standard Products and Services Code, a classification system for services and products used in eCommerce. It was a joint development set up in 1998 by the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and UNDP (United Nations Development Program).

UNSPSC coding is currently managed by the US division of the GS1 Global Standards Association, which controls supply-chain standards across the world. UNSPSC classification covers everything from livestock to aircraft interface electronics, and has revolutionised areas like and reverse engineering, allowing better supply management, spend analysis and purchasing control. Leading engineering companies have adopted the UNSPSC coding, often aided by Master Data Management tools such as specialist software.

MDM software allows easy adoption of , and does away with the need to develop in-house coding systems. UNSPSC classification isn’t mandatory, and other systems, such as eClass, exist. However, the GS1 supply-chain standard is the one most widely used worldwide, and the fact that the GS1 US organization controls UNSPSC coding has given the UNSPSC global recognition.

UNSPSC coding has a hierarchical structure, which a good Master Data Management software program will utilise by grouping purchase transactions effectively into the relevant categories, mapping them into the company’s existing commodity structure. The program will enable product awareness and discovery by listing similar services and products under one category. This simple uniform coding system also allows rapid identification of suppliers, and makes spend analysis easy on complex mechanical engineering projects.

We at ۿ۴ý Technologies offer a range of value engineering services, including Master Data Management solutions for eClass and UNSPSC classification purposes.
